Rowan County Christmas: Bringing Holiday Cheer to Local Families 

For more than 30 years, Rowan County Christmas has brought hope and joy to families and seniors in need during the holiday season. The all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization unites churches, civic groups, businesses, and caring individuals to ensure that everyone in Rowan County can experience the true spirit of Christmas. 

Each year, the program serves more than 500 families, providing toys and books for children, gifts for seniors, and food vouchers to help make every home a little brighter. 

Behind the scenes, the Rowan County Christmas Board of Directors and volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year to raise the funds and gather the resources that make this effort possible. Through creative fundraisers, community partnerships, and countless volunteer hours, they ensure that no family is left without holiday cheer. 

Families with children ages 0–18 and seniors 65 and older, who fall below the median income limit for Rowan County, are encouraged to apply for assistance during this year’s Application Sign-Up period, taking place November 10–22, 2025, at Peggy’s Place in Morehead City Park. 

Application hours are 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. on weekdays (November 10–14 and November 17–21) and 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. on Saturdays, November 15 and 22.  Applicants must bring a photo ID, proof of residency, and proof of income. 

*Those physically unable to attend in person may send a handwritten authorization allowing someone to apply and pick up gifts on their behalf.
