A Message from Building Inspector Justin Caudill
It is the mission of the Rowan County Building Inspector to insure safe and adequate construction throughout the county, while also promoting the development of new housing as the county continues to grow.
The process for building permitting is as follows:
Applicant to obtain a permit application, either in person or from the website.
Complete the application and provide required documentation as listed on the application.
Submit application and required documentation to building inspector office for review.
Once reviewed applicant will be notified of status of permit and fee amount (if applicable), and may obtain permit from building inspector office.
Permit holder will be advised of required inspections during construction, and may call the inspector to schedule.
Once satisfactory of final inspection, permit holder will be issued a Certificate of Occupancy for the property.
