Rowan County Soil Conservation District

The mission statement of the Conservation District is “To conserve and promote the best use of the natural resources of the county by encouraging the use of Best Management Practices, district involvement with land use policy decisions, public awareness and education.” The Rowan County Soil Conservation District fulfills this mission statement by administering several programs for the farmers and citizens of Rowan County.

Rowan County Veterans' Foundation

As we prepare to celebrate Veteran's Day and show our gratitude for the service of countless brave men and women, it’s also important to recognize the work our veterans are doing here at home and to support them. The Rowan County Veterans’ Foundation is one organization that does many projects throughout our community, including managing Freedom Park, the Veteran’s Museum, the Memorial Day parade and ceremony, and their annual Veterans’ Day essay contest.

DOVES of Gateway

Domestic Violence Emergency Services of Gateway, or DOVES, is a non-profit organization that provides safe shelter and free services to domestic violence victims. Domestic violence is a serious but sadly widespread crime that affects people of all races, ages, gender, and income levels. Only a coordinated community effort will put a stop to this crime, and this change can begin with you.
